We are a small Episcopal Church on the banks of the Rappahannock in Port Royal, Virginia. We acknowledge that we gather on the traditional land of the first people of Port Royal, the Nandtaughtacund, and we respect and honor with gratitude the land itself, the legacy of the ancestors, and the life of the Rappahannock Tribe. Our mission statement is to do God’s Will in all that we do.

Village Harvest, June 15, 2016

We had a much smaller crowd at 70 this month at the Village Harvest. (May, 2016, 128). It was the lowest turnout since January, 2015. At least one group from Essex county did not show up since there was a conflict. We do notify people the day before about the Village Harvest. It has been the 3rd Wed. of each month.

On Wed, June 15 we distributed:

  • 467 pounds of produce
  • 69 pounds of grocery items
  • 106 pounds of meat
  • 62 pounds of bakery items

Total distributed was 704 pounds of food.

The food included chicken breasts, potatoes, stir-fry vegetables, kale, sandwich roles, salad greens, hummus, cracker, paper towels and toilet paper.

We thank the volunteers for helping, many of whom show up each month.
