We are a small Episcopal Church on the banks of the Rappahannock in Port Royal, Virginia. We acknowledge that we gather on the traditional land of the first people of Port Royal, the Nandtaughtacund, and we respect and honor with gratitude the land itself, the legacy of the ancestors, and the life of the Rappahannock Tribe. Our mission statement is to do God’s Will in all that we do.

Removal of the chimney, Nov. 28, 2011

The crane arrived on a flatbed truck early on Nov. 28th, and Nelson and Randy Pitts have been hard at work ever since. Jim Heimbach captured these pictures. The chimney had been damaged during the Aug. 23, 2011 earthquake. The Vestry approved capping it down to the top of the sacristy due to its instability. It also will not be needed due to changes in the church’s heating system.
