We are a small Episcopal Church on the banks of the Rappahannock in Port Royal, Virginia. We acknowledge that we gather on the traditional land of the first people of Port Royal, the Nandtaughtacund, who are still here, and we honor with gratitude the land itself and the life of the Rappahannock Tribe. Our mission statement is to do God’s Will in all that we do.

Advent Workshop – Let’s Make a Christmas Tree!

Ice cream cones were provided to the youth. Instructions:

1. Frost an upside down ice cream cone with either green or white icing.
2. Then decorate with sprinkles.
3. You can add a star at the end for the top.

This was a messy craft. The temptation was to eat is before completing. The instructions said to try not to lick their finger which was easier said than done!

There were enough cones for people to create more than one tree.

Jan led this activity providing detailed instructions and showing them how to use the frostings and ways to decorate the tree.

The youth caught on quickly. We are not sure how many trees actually got home!
