The ECW enjoyed their trip to the Lewis Ginter Gardens in Richmond, especially the butterfly exhibit. The gardens spread over 40 acres and is developed into more than a dozen themed areas – dozen themed gardens include a Children’s Garden, Rose Garden, Healing Garden, Sunken Garden, Asian Valley and Victorian Garden. Ginter was a Richmond philanthropist who bought the land in 1884. In response to the new craze for bicycling he founded the Lakeside Wheel Club in 1894. This was the original structure which is now Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden’s historic Bloemendaal House.
We are a small Episcopal Church on the banks of the Rappahannock in Port Royal, Virginia. We acknowledge that we gather on the traditional land of the first people of Port Royal, the Nandtaughtacund, and we respect and honor with gratitude the land itself, the legacy of the ancestors, and the life of the Rappahannock Tribe. Our mission statement is to do God’s Will in all that we do.
